This policy explains what information TryJobFit collects, why we use it, how advertising and analytics partners may process data, and how users can contact us about privacy questions.

Privacy summary

  • We collect account, profile, resume, application, and usage data to operate the platform.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • Google and other partners may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, security, and advertising.
  • Users can request access, correction, deletion, or opt-out help by contacting us.

1. Information we collect

When you use TryJobFit, we may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, profile details, resume content, job preferences, work authorization context, saved jobs, applications, alerts, and messages sent through forms.

We also collect technical and usage data such as IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, referring URLs, approximate location, session activity, and diagnostic events needed to keep the service secure and reliable.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts.
  • Show relevant jobs, saved jobs, alerts, and application tools.
  • Provide resume, cover letter, ATS, salary, and career features.
  • Improve content quality, navigation, security, and performance.
  • Send transactional emails and user-requested job alerts.
  • Measure site usage and understand which public content is useful.
  • Serve, measure, and improve advertising where ads are enabled.
  • Comply with legal, security, and fraud-prevention obligations.

3. Advertising and Google services

TryJobFit may use Google AdSense and related Google advertising services. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, browser signals, and similar technologies to serve ads, limit repeated ads, measure ad performance, and help prevent fraud and abuse.

Google may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to TryJobFit or other websites. Users can manage ad personalization in Google Ads Settings. Users can also read how Google uses data when users visit partner sites or apps.

4. Cookies, consent, and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, authentication, preferences, analytics, advertising, and security. Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate site usage. ContentSquare may help us identify confusing user experience patterns. Google OAuth is used when a user signs in with Google.

Optional analytics and advertising storage is denied by default. The Cookie settings control in the footer lets users accept, reject, or change those choices at any time.

Where legally required, including for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, personalized advertising requires valid consent through Google's consent tools or a Google-certified consent management platform.

More detail is available in our Cookie Policy.

5. AI-assisted features

Some TryJobFit tools send the information needed for a request to OpenAI to provide resume feedback, cover-letter drafts, skill analysis, interview practice, and career suggestions. Our main job-match percentage is rule-based rather than generated by an AI model. OpenAI states that API inputs are not used to train its models by default; standard provider systems may retain API data for up to 30 days for safety and abuse monitoring.

Employer-side application analysis only runs when a candidate explicitly opts in. Candidates can apply without opting in. AI outputs are assistance only, cannot change an application status, and must be reviewed by a person. We do not sell profile or resume data to AI providers for advertising.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We may share information with service providers that help operate the platform, including hosting, email, analytics, security, payment, authentication, and advertising providers. If you apply to a job through TryJobFit, the information you submit may be shared with the relevant employer or application destination.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

7. Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and prevent abuse. We use safeguards such as HTTPS, access controls, and secure infrastructure, but no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. User choices and rights

Depending on location, users may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or opt-out support for certain processing. Users can also unsubscribe from marketing or alert emails using links in those emails or by contacting us.

Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Advertising choices can also be managed through Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tools.

9. Canada and children's privacy

TryJobFit is operated from Canada and is designed for job seekers and employers, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
