Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team
  • Coordinate patient care
  • Evaluate patient care and progress
  • Implement an interdisciplinary plan of care
  • Plan patient care
  • Advise patients on drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs
  • Ensure infection control
  • Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
  • Prepare a treatment plan for each patient
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Coaching
  • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions
  • Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions
  • Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice
  • Provide nursing care
  • Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
  • Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
